4-H Healthy Living Ambassadors
The 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador program was started in 2012 with the goal of supporting youth leadership in healthier lifestyles. In the 2025-26 year, the program had over 200 youth engaged with the program and have expanded the program to other counties across the state. Youth involved in the program are exposed to various professional fields including:
- Culinary Arts and Food Science
- Agriculture and Horticulture
- Nutrition and Wellness
- Outdoor Recreation and Conservation
- Community Engagement, Education and Advocacy
- Visual, Textile, and Performing Arts
- College and Career Readiness
- Animal Care
The 4-H Healthy Living Ambassadors (HLA) Club offers middle and high school students the opportunity to become leaders in promoting healthy lifestyle choices and sustainability within their communities. Members enjoy hands-on projects, monthly community meetings, and opportunities for community service.

Everything you need to know about our 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador program, all in one place! This newsletter is for both teens and their grown-ups (parents & caregivers) who want to stay connected, hear about upcoming opportunities, and keep up with all things HLA.
Please note: This is a separate newsletter from our regular Tucson Village Farm newsletter, so be sure to subscribe even if you already receive TVF updates!
Qualifications & Commitment:
- Teens living in Arizona between the ages of 12–18
(Grades 7-12). Youth must be 12 years old by September 30th, 2026. - Must be able to attend monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month, meetings are from 5:30pm-7:00pm at the "Big" Farm, 2201 E. Roger Rd. Dinner is provided.
- Complete at least one project per semester.
- Complete at least 10 hours per semester of additional volunteer work at the farm.
- Must enroll in ZSuites and register via the google form.
- NEW THIS YEAR!! Attend a mandatory information meeting on Thursday September 24th at 5:30. This is for parents, caregivers and teens.
The 4-H HLA program aims to be available to all youth. All programming is mostly available for little to no cost. Funding for programming and staffing comes from grants and donations. A $20 state and county 4-H fee is required at registration.
