Nature 'Bathing' Art Class (Ages 15+)

Immerse yourself in the enchanting practice of nature "bathing", known as shinrin yoku (or, forest bathing), hailing from Japan and dedicated to enhancing both physical vitality and mental wellness by breaking free from the confines of routine life and reconnecting with nature. There are no wrong ways to experience this serene journey – just relax and tune into the present moment.

Our sessions will begin with a 10-15 minute freewriting exercise, allowing thoughts to flow freely without overthinking. Then, we'll delve into the forest bathing experience, igniting your senses through a slow-motion sensory walk with engaging prompts. While we'll mostly enjoy moments of silent introspection, we'll have brief check-ins for sharing insights. Following this, indulge in another 10-15 minutes of intentional writing, perhaps comparing your initial thoughts or capturing newfound inspiration. To cap off the experience, embrace the therapeutic aspect of art with open-ended creative prompts inspired by our nature journey on the farm. Join us for a blend of relaxation, self-expression, and the rejuvenating power of nature's embrace!

This class will be led by TVF AmeriCorps member and seasoned forest bather, Destinie (Desi) Dehlavi. Desi is taking the soothing practice of forest bathing and bringing it to the farm for a fully immersive nature experience. Enjoy a few hours of intentional slowness in our lush garden with the mountains in the distance to watch over you.

Since this class will be repeated each week only one session is necessary to feel the full benefits of nature "bathing" on the farm.

This class will meet Mondays from 4pm-7pm at Tucson Village Farm's "Big Farm" at 2201 E Roger Rd. Tucson Az 85719
