Dig In
Roots and Hooves
In this hands-on program, students will experience the world of animal husbandry and food production through direct interaction with our farm animals. Participants will have the opportunity to build empathy for living things, learn the care, respect, and responsibility involved in animal caretaking, and practice gentle interactions with goats and chickens.
Students will rotate through four engaging stations where they will develop listening, teamwork, and community-building skills in an outdoor environment. As they explore the farm, they will discover where everyday foods and products come from and gain a deeper understanding of the important role farmers play within an integrated agricultural system.
Designed to foster connection, curiosity, and respect for farm life, Roots & Hooves offers a fun and memorable experience that helps students build meaningful relationships with animals, food, and one another.
