Growing Forward
This is our K-12 Common Core agriculture and nutrition education program. During this two hour hands-on program 9:30-11:30am, students will rotate through a variety of engaging outdoor classrooms and learning spaces on the farm. In each, they will learn about growing healthy food, building healthy soil, and nutrition- through different lessons including composting and vermi-culture, whole grains and honey bees, chickens, farm chores, and more! Students will also be offered garden-fresh snacks and our famous, farm-raised popcorn.
The program is only offered on Tuesday and Thursdays (with some Wednesdays).
The fee for Growing Forward is $6/student. While we DO NOT charge teachers or chaperones, we DO recommend a ratio of 1 adult to every 6-8 students.
