Why Give to Tucson Village Farm

Tucson Village Farm (TVF) is a seed-to-table program designed to reconnect young people to a healthy food system, teach them how to grow and prepare fresh food, and empower them to make healthy life choices. A program of the Pima County Cooperative Extension and the University of Arizona, TVF is a working urban farm and healthy living center that fosters life and leadership skills in young people through agriculture, culinary education, outdoor adventure, and community engagement.

To meet the needs of our community—and the dreams of our very own youth members—TVF has grown far beyond the fields. Today, our reach includes youth leadership programs, community events, a thriving 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador club, and dynamic outdoor education opportunities both on site at our 4-H High Ropes Course and off site with single- and multi-day adventures across southern Arizona and the Sonoran Desert. Think river-rafting, backpacking, sailing, caving, climbing, and more!

At TVF, we aren’t just growing healthy vegetables—we’re growing healthy children. In an era dominated by excessive screen time and rising mental health challenges, we provide real, meaningful alternatives: hands-on learning, skill building, and experiences that spark curiosity, resilience, and confidence. Our programs encourage kids to get outside, connect with one another, and discover the world in ways that nurture both body and mind.

Every year, we engage approximately 20,000 individuals, delivering over 89,000 hours of education—and those numbers continue to grow. What’s more, kids who get involved with TVF tend to stay involved, often returning year after year as campers, volunteers, counselors, teen members, AmeriCorps members, and even U of A student workers if they remain in Tucson for college. The relationships and skills they build here last far beyond their time at the farm.

Your gift ensures these impactful programs don’t just exist today but thrive for years to come. By investing in Tucson Village Farm, you help create a stable foundation that keeps our programs accessible to all youth, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Your support safeguards the future of this work and helps realize our vision: to cultivate healthy lifestyles, wellness, resilience, and sustainability in young people, empowering them to be contributing members of their communities.
